Waxing: Get Your Smooth Moves On

As a Beauty Salon owner, I understand that waxing can be a daunting experience for many people. However, with the proper preparation and guidance, it can be a smooth and stress-free process.

Firstly, choosing a reputable salon with experienced and qualified therapists who use high-quality waxing products is essential. Our salon prioritises hygiene and safety and ensures that our clients feel comfortable and at ease throughout the treatment.

Waxing

Waxing Services For Women

Before the appointment, avoiding shaving or using hair removal creams for at least two weeks before the waxing session is essential. This allows the hair to grow to the optimum length for effective waxing. We recommend exfoliating the area a day or two before the appointment to remove dead skin cells and avoid ingrown hairs.

On the appointment day, wearing loose-fitting clothing is essential to avoid irritation and allow the skin to breathe.

During the treatment, our therapists apply warm wax to the area using a spatula and then use strips of cloth to remove the hair in the direction of hair growth. We ensure the wax is not too hot to avoid burns or discomfort and apply pressure to the area after waxing to soothe any irritation.

While waxing may be uncomfortable for some, it's important to remember the benefits. Waxing removes hair from the root, resulting in smoother and longer-lasting results than shaving. It also exfoliates the skin and promotes healthy hair growth.

At Charishma Beauty,  we understand that everyone's pain tolerance is different, and we prioritise the comfort and well-being of our clients. We provide a range of waxing options, including hard wax for sensitive skin or intimate areas, and offer numbing cream for those who require extra comfort.

FAQ

In addition to providing a smooth and comfortable waxing experience, we also prioritise education and guidance for our clients.
We offer aftercare advice and recommend products to prevent ingrown hairs and maintain smooth skin between waxing sessions.nce.

  • Will my hair grow back thinner?

As the hair is pulled from the roots, this reduces hair growth. It varies from person to person, but even though your hair will grow back less, it may not necessarily be thinner. You’ll just have less of it.

  • Does waxing hurt as much as people say?

Firstly, it depends on where you’re getting a wax done. If you’re getting an intimate wax done, you will undoubtedly experience some pain, but even with this, some parts are less sensitive than others. Plus, the first time is the worst, so the pain lessens if you get it done every 3-6 weeks when the hair is waxable again.

  • What’s the best way to get rid of post-waxing red skin?

Moisturising is the simple yet most effective way of calming down red skin. Waxing removes the top layer of the epidermis revealing new, softer ones, but simultaneously, it strips away the skin’s natural oil and moisture.

  • How does the hair grow back?

If you become a regular waxer, you’ll notice that your hair will become sparser, making it easier to wax…and less painful!

  • Can I shave between treatments?

Resist the urge to pick up the razor! We strongly advise not shaving after having a wax done. Shaving promotes ingrown hairs and skin abrasions; hence it counteracts all of the wonders the wax does for your skin. Plus, shaving makes your skin more sensitive, making your next wax more painful.

  • What should I avoid after waxing?

After the waxing session, we advise clients to avoid hot baths, saunas, and swimming pools for at least 24 hours to prevent irritation or infection. We also recommend applying a soothing cream or lotion to the area to calm the skin and prevent ingrown hairs.

  • What's the best thing to wear to a wax appointment?

Wear loose clothing to your appointment so you'll be comfy afterwards. For the rest of the day, you should avoid applying too much friction from tight-fitting clothing or exercise, lest you may wind up with even more irritation or ingrown hair in the waxed area. Good news: The redness should go away overnight.
